Spirituality
- The Missing Link |
When people lived in harmony with the land, cared for it and survived because of it, they had a spiritual connection with it and each other. This is what is missing today, and this is the vital link we need. City life is so draining, our modern routine consumes us, but it does not have to be that way, we can still tap into the spiritual energies within us and all around, if only we would be open to it. Those who feel this special link are aware of a divine presence which exists in all things. We know we're all related, connected, and our actions affect everyone and everything else. As long as we stay attuned to this spiritual energy, we will feel more respect for ourselves, each other, the earth, and all Creation. In the folds of time, as we grew separated from each other and the land, we lost this bond. Somehow we grew afraid and planted a seed of illusion that told us we were not one with each other and all things, that we could own the land, conquer nature, be superior to others, own and control them by dividing them into the groups. That seed spread like a malady and severed our consciousness, collectively and individually, deluding us into believing these things were real, forgetting the laws of nature, which are also the laws of the Spirit. Priorities were changed, egos got inflated, and the fear spread throughout the land. Those who believed themselves better than the others under their perceived realities, invented more illusions in forms of status, class, distinction, race and creed and gave power to the crafty persons who could seize it. Their numbers grew and the life was thrown in imbalance by their wrongful deeds that created privileges for a select few when those privileges should have been the rights of all the people. The farcical systems, that benefited a few, and the social norms that were created continue to affect us even today. This pollution is fuelled further by the seed of fear, which breeds insecurity, and disharmony in all it touches. If we look back in the history, we will find that those greedy for power and false glory declared themselves self righteous and ruled with iron fists. Cultures were destroyed, rebellions were squashed, opposing views were suppressed, and people were forced to live in fear. Perhaps not all but those who had no respect for the human lives, polluted themselves with delusions of greed, power, which gave them a false sense of security and mightiness. They forgot how to look inside their hearts - they forgot the laws of nature, they didn't want to give up what they had gained, even at the expense of others' lives. They could not feel Spirit inside them anymore for they masked it with their illusions; all this happened because people forgot that we are all One.
We would remember the laws of nature, guided by Spirit, because Spirit lives in all things. We would remember what is really important, real family values, living by example, respect, kindness, compassion, truth, responsibility, sincerity, and most of all, Love. We can return to this way of living, if only we could recognize the Living Spirit within all of us, and all of Creation. We belong to the earth, to each other, and the spiritual energy that holds us all together. We can live as one people again, celebrate diversity, remember our similarities, work together, share, give, help, and love each other for who and what we are. When we remember who we are, where we came from, and why we're here, this will happen. The steps to doing this may look like these suggestions: 1.
Remembering Our Origin and Purpose 2.
Nurturing that Spirit in All We Do 3.
Recognizing, Encouraging and Developing Our Unique Qualities 4.
We will Live in Balance 5.
Following the Natural Laws Many people
are today beginning to realize the importance of spiritual harmoney,
as they feel pinned down by the false social norms and search for the
meaning of life. The New Age is really just a return to an old way of
life that has worked for many ages. The real New Age will come, when
we realize that we are all One, and spirituality will no longer be the
missing link. *** |
